In New York City, there are approximately 3.4 million residences in New York City that have the opportunity to pay less for their energy by switching to Ambit Energy. At this time, only 10% of those residences have taken advantage of the deregulated energy market by switching AWAY from ConEdison! So 90% of the people eligible to save are still paying TOP DOLLAR with ConEdison.
In Texas, of the over 7 million customers, near 70% have not taken advantage of this deregulated market.
Why is this?
Typically, there are a few reasons:
- Some people just don’t know they have a choice.

Competition will work, but we all must participate in the free market by CHOOSING! 90% of the people staying with ConEdison and paying the highest prices is NOT a competitive market at work. ConEd is actually working to encourage people to switch away from them. Call ConEd and listen to their voice mail systems; they offer you information on how to switch away from them!
So, choose to save, and help foster competition!
